Cyber attackers going after Home Workers!

The Telegraph (James Cook) carries a big warning article about Cyber Attackers who, they say, are going after Universities & health care experts, etc ., in order to get a grip of whatever research might be going on in Covid-19 research.

The key issue, apart from all of the money they might get for scoring a good hack about the research being done, is that the workers/students are, very often, working from home and using on-line to get & give info about that work.

GCHQ has issued a stern warning that countries such as China, Russia, North Korea & Vietnam, have launched efforts to hack into the big research companies (such as GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, etc.

They say that they are seeing it daily.

What does that mean to the everyday, average, person?

OK.

If they can hack a home working nurse, or medic, they can get into that person's distribution lists, and, from there, work their way up through other lists to get to the core of where the info is.

Well worth reading if you are interested in the way these crims are working.

Article is "Pharma Pioneers seek Cure For hacking Threat".
