Android - Dealing with SMS/MMS On Windows 10 PC

I've just tried Windows YourPhone but terminated installation of the phone app because it became too inquisitive.

Is there a better way .....

Look into BlueStacks. That's the Android emulator I use. A bit slow to open but it works OK.

Edit: Not sure about the 'message' aspect thinking about it. Worth checking though.

I think that will be too complex for my needs .....

I can actually read SMS backups in Google Drive in normal text but I don't want to backup SMS every time a message arrives .....

I've just found Google "Messages for Web" - All I needed to do was scan in a QR code to my phone .....

That's good.

My family recently persuaded me to get WhatsApp on my phone. I discovered shortly after there is a WhatsApp App available from Microsoft's Store and that was set up by scanning the QR code with my phone.

This is what "Messages for Web" looks like on a PC (not mine!):

I could work with that. I'm never going to be very fast-fingered on the phone, so that would suit me down to the ground.

It's installed and set up now. Thanks Omah. With that and the WhatsApp App, the phone will just sit around while I'm indoors. Keyboard and mouse from now on.
