I just turned the news on now and wondered why it was still on (should have ended at 10:30) and when they started talking about Nelson Mandela it hit me.

Such a shame, but we all knew it was coming.

I remember as a young activist nearly 50 years ago taking part in vigils and demonstrations outside the South African Embassy in Trafalgar Square to 'free' Nelson Mandela.

He was the one man who brought down the Fascist Apartheid regime in South Africa. May he now Rest in Peace.
