Re: 'out of touch', ignorant MP

Zero-hour working - a sound bite designed for criticising the perceived reduction in jobless figures.

It could be argued that with me being self-employed I was on a zero-hour contract too. If people didn't set me on to do their electrical work I didn't get paid. No top-up benefits or JSA either. I guess that all the self-employed are the same.

Re: 'out of touch', ignorant MP

Hi

Corbyn is going to raise Corporation Tax from 19% to 26% to fund some of their plans.

Raising the minimum wage by a third, not something I object to, is however going to cut company profits so raising the rate of Corporation Tax is not going to raise anymore money at all.

As regards the comments on here about these Companies making vast profits, this goes to shareholders in the form of Dividends.

The big shareholders are the Pension Funds, so if you have a Company Pension, that will be going down as well.

Labour really have not thought this out at all.

You want to tell this to John McDonnell, you seem to have more a grasp of the realities of economics than he does.

Perhaps they have and like me think shareholders will have to accept less so those not earning enough to buy any sort of pension may at least manage to feed clothe and house themselves without top up benefits.
