Re: Your Christmas Songs

I'd forgotten this song. A very poignant song about missing out on Christmas which seems to be the story of 2020

Re: Your Christmas Songs

There are some cracking choons by here! Thanks for the thread.

I am not a christian but that does not stop me enjoying or appreciating good christmas music.

I haven't heard Six White Boomers since I was a kid when a certain (now disgraced) Aussie singer/artist/comedian sang it on his TV show.

Even with my crap, off key voice, I used to love belting out the traditional carols during school assembly, especially when singing the alternative words.

(Hark the herald angels sing,
Beechams Pills are just the thing, or

Good king Wenceslas looked out,
Of his bedroom window)

My favourite christmas song of all time is Chris DeBurgh's, A Spaceman Came Travelling.

Did you know that the musical chorus was actually written by Sergei Prokofiev for the Russian film Lieutenant Kijé, a story about the exploits of a drunken soldier and actually had nothing at all to do with christmas?

As a big, big fan of ELP, yes, I did.

Here's a boogie woogie version of Silent Night I found this morning:
