So why are they now anti such things as abortion? Even the Republic seems to permit it.

Like all god botherers, his war was nothing to do with who has the best god but more about his personal gains.
Take a look at those fighting for their version of the sky pixie, they and Ireland are all the same. Killing and hating each other for the god of love, compassion and forgiveness.

you can be anti anything - doesn't always depend on ya religion?? - after all as someone once said - henry the 8th was always a good catholic boy even when he split from the catholic church and hounded them - the high church tomes of the C of E are almost identical to the katolicks!
