How did you choose your user name ??

Now that I am officially ( kicking and screaming all the way ! ) a ' woman of a certain age ', I do not like being called 'Miss' anymore.

In NY, it can mean just a young lady, but much like calling somebody 'fat ' which often carries baggage of ' ugly, smelly, stupid, loser, etc, Miss can also come with baggage. It can be used in exasperation for a woman you want to hurry along ( like at the supermarket, prove wrong, silence.....)

Example : ' Look Miss, I told you already we don't sell.......


So I prefer Madame, though the chance of that happening very often in Brooklyn is about as likely as finding a snowball in hell !

My parents called me "Graham", so I thought I would be original and call myself "Graham" (just to avoid confusion)

Tish you must stop providing angst for yourself.
Sometimes you have great posts others you seem to downgrade
yourself for no reason. Think positive and not negative.
We here don't know you personally so don't try and down grade
yourself. We accept you for what you are. A American lady.
Anything else we don't know and will still talk to you.
Being a lot older than you please forgive yourself as we do
Don't think that we know everything about everyone, we don't
its impossible unless you meet and befriend them Enjoy the site
and let go luv life is too short.

There is one thing that we over 50s don't get called in the UK and that's Miss so no need to worry.
Now I do get called love, duck, hen, chuck etc depending on what part of the country I'm in, probably a good thing that Madame doesn't have all that to cope with.

We have a Suzuki GSX 1400 Motorbike so my name being Sue just felt right

Many many thanks for your imput and taking the time to share it with me.

Regrettably I have numerous psy diagnosis and take medication, see a psychiatrist and have weekly therapy, I have survived a great deal of abuse, some of it illegal, so I am a strange combination of very chatty, smiley, helpful and friendly ( don't stand next to me at a bus stop or hate being hugged !! ), but I am also a self loathing, depressive, anxiety ridden train wreck of a woman, straight down the middle, 50% of each personality.

I could on the one hand hide all the bad bits and many would be none the wiser, as with my silly pictures that I often post you could easily think I am something that I am not always. I guess I was presenting the 'Full Tish Experience ' for want of a better term, the chatty, funny, empathetic, helpful, neurotic, anxiety ridden, depressive, frightened, lonely....Tish that is contained in this 61 inch body.

I do not want to bring anybody down, or have people wish I would just go away, so I will refrain in the future from posting anything that could possibly anger, offend, exasperate, etc anybody on here. This site has become a bit of a lifeline for me, and I want to stick around.

EZ Rider I think is EZ to explain. I was a biker fan in my youth as many "boys" were and then the movie Easy Rider was around in the late 60s. The rest, as they say, was EZ.
