Coronavirus: Holiday bookings 'explode' as travel restrictions ease

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53206148

Ministers said from 6 July, blanket restrictions on non-essential overseas travel will be relaxed in the UK.

Holidaymakers will be allowed to travel to certain European countries without having to spend 14 days in quarantine upon their return.

The list of travel corridors with the UK is due to be published next week and is expected to include Spain, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Belgium, Turkey, Germany and Norway - but not Portugal or Sweden.

It comes as it was announced a further 100 people had died from the virus in the UK, with a further 890 people testing positive, as of 27 June.
Well, it was unfettered overseas travel that brought the virus to this country in the first place so why not export/import thousands of tourists to test the water (so to speak ..... ) .....

After all, letting a few million loose on the streets, lanes and beaches of Britain hasn't produced a significant increase in cases or deaths so the virus must have disappeared .....

I know ... you can't believe the madness can you.

Apparently travel firms are reporting bumper bookings.
One minute the media are telling us how coronaphobia is afflicting the country and no one wants to go out ... and yet, now .... there's going to be a mass exodus.

Not anxious that you might be trapped onboard should the virus decide to come along for the ride looking for hosts ?

Here's a question for you to consider.

We've been on lockdown for over 100 days, working peeps have been on furlough, others have lost their jobs, there's no money about say the shop keepers. If that's the case, where's the money coming from to pay for all these holidays? Credit cards (that are supposedly already maxed out)?

State Pensions have still been paid ? Outgoing expenditures bound to have lessened resulting in shopkeepers saying less money about . Result? Spare money for holidays .
