Very strange. A container of some sort, but with a tube(?) feeding in through a drain hole in the bottom?
Is that mercury in the end of the (?)tube?
Could it be for separating off two fluids?

Yes, all correct.


My local church had an open day with a go at bell ringing just before the bells were removed for retuning and cleaning.
All that plus a cup of tea with biscuits, a tour of the church and belfry which is when I took the photo, and a sale of home made jams and chutneys etcetera.
It was expensive mind. All of that cost 50p!

Goodness knows how, I'm not good at anything else.

I haven't got any photo's of weird or wonderful items that need identifying sadly.
