Prior to becoming an MP, she was chief executive of the Child Poverty Action Group and before that, director of the National Council for One Parent Families (now Gingerbread).
Will have empathy with struggling families, a better choice.

RLB is still an MP and a member of the Labour Party though.

In the days of anti racism and woke-ness its perfectly ok to be a racist as long your not on the labour front bench.
