Lark or owl?

As I sit here gently yawning, checking my watch, thinking it's nearly time for a nice shower and bed, I'm prompted to ask whether you are up with the lark, bright and chirpy early in the morning but fast-fading as the night progresses, or are you slow to wake and rise but full of life as midnight approaches?

If you have a life-partner are they the same as you? I can't help feeling it must be difficult in'mixed-marriages'

Re: Lark or owl?

Generally I am a morning person, but since joining certain forums, find myself becoming a bit of a night owl sometimes...No good late at night, my brain gets a fuzzled...

Re: Lark or owl?

I'm a bit of a night-owl. Don't go to bed till around 11.45 p.m./midnight-mainly because of getting carried away on here and dogsey I have no-one to disturb so it doesn't matter. I usually get up around 8-8.30 a.m. and after a strong cup of coffee I'm as bright as a button

Re: Lark or owl?

Night Owl here, it comes from years and years of almost failing to meet paperwork deadlines! University assignments, exam revision then later on it was marking assignments as a teacher, pupil report writing, etc. etc. Even though I'm now retired, I can't kick the habit. Once in bed (after midnight of course) I'll read until 1 or 2am. I no longer have to get up at 6.30, so my bad habits are now easier to maintain!

Re: Lark or owl?

Night owl; usually turn the lights and TV off about 12:30 am; get up at 8 , but will gladly sleep past 9 am when I have no errands to run. Don't really feel completely alert till about 10:30 am. We had flex time in my previous to last job before retirement and I worked 7 am to 3 pm. It was great to get off that early but hard to function at that ungodly hour of the morning...
