Another U turn!

So,spineless, Jellyfish has done another U turn! Last week,no covid passports, today, announced, "well, ive chucked my teddy out the pram, because i got caught out trying to dodge self isolating ",so I've changed my mind, covid passports will be "compulsory"so much for "freedom", and getting back to "normal", normal was not having covid passports! Just another name for electronic identity cards!
It's all about control! Always was! Stage by stage! And gullible idiots keep falling for the lies! If you do this,if you do that, etc, yeah right!
Wave goodbye to all your freedom, and liberty and say hello to 1984!
Back in lockdown by September!
And just for the record, ive had covid, bad, and survived without an untested vaccine jab, that the government and pharmaceutical companies are unable to be sued for any deaths from having it! Thats a red flag straight away! Why make sure you cant be sued if its "safe"?
And no,I'm not an antivaxer. And I'm in the vulnerable category of dying! Been there, done tgat,a few tines,no Angels playing harps,no bright lights,no visions, just, dead!
According to medical experts, when i had covid, in 2019,and survived, so my body will "recognize " next time the virus strikes,so have "natural immunity". Hey guess what,im still alive, but from September, if i want to go anywhere, i need to get injected with a trial, experimental drug, well, I'm not a laboratory animal,in ten years time, when all the people jabbed by their own choice, not the vulnerable or elderly, like myself, are dropping dead, and incapacitated,it'll be,well,it was your choice!

Re: Another U turn!

If as some think, the government want us to have ID cards why not just admit it.

If labour win next GE that probably will happen.

Hi

Boris has introduced a Bill for photo ID for voters.

This is an identity card.

Re: Another U turn!

I've no problem with ID cards personally, we already have to have such as photo driving licence or a passport for so many reasons to prove our identity, so why not for voting? Just seems logical to me...

Re: Another U turn!

Sadly it looks like some people need a supplementary dose of common sense IMHO.

Even in this forum there are posts about people deliberately ignoring being told to isolate when they have covid who have gone on to infect others.
It takes just one of these idiots (no aplologies because IMHO that is the only way to describe them) to mingle with the public in a crowd to begin a superspreader even and infect countless others.

Since there are quite obviously those who wilfully ignore instructions despite the likely consequences, perhaps the moaners would like to propose an alternative course of action that would be as easy to implement and as likely to work as the passport proposal?

I would probably be better not holding my breath while I wait for sensible, workable suggestions.

The government is like a rudderless ship.

Listening to PM speaking yesterday did not inspire much
confidence.

Will continue to wear mask and make my own decision about the rest.

And yet it economically we are doing well, and our vaccination plan is so far keeping hospitalisations at one-tenth the rate of those the last time infection numbers were so high.
And they stays in hospital are shorter too.
If that's what comes from a "rudderless ship", long may it continue.

Are things perfect?
No.
When have they ever been?
But IMHO the current trend for constant moaning shows the world what a miserable bunch of moaning gits there are here, when the reality is that we are doing very nicely compared to much of the rest of the world.

One only has to read Minx's experience about not being able to get a vaccine (in GD) to see how right you are.

Sometimes I get the impression that some people on finding a fiver in the street would moan that it wasn't a twenty.
