Time... On BBC 1. Is Anyone Watching This?

‘Time’ is a three-part drama set in a prison where Mark Cobden, a teacher played by Sean Bean is sent to for four years.
He is no hardened criminal but he has been sent to a prison where there are so many bad hard men.

The brilliant, Stephen Graham plays a prison officer and l love the way he struts about and takes on these violent hardened criminals..

It is written by Jimmy McGovern and is on BBC1 Sunday evenings at 9pm. It is very realistic and.... very harrowing.

It is violent in parts but very watchable.

All three episodes are available on BBCiplayer.

Jimmy McGovern writes some hard hitting - but brilliant - dramas. In the absence of both TV and a licence, I will look forward to this being out on DVD.

ST, It’s a shame you have to wait so long to see these good dramas.

It is very harrowing in parts and if it’s really like that in prisons, it makes you wonder why there are so many offenders!

Watched the first episode last night, which I recorded and thoroughly enjoyed. Not much to suit me on TV this evening so glad, Art, to learn that the remaining episodes are available to "binge".

Omg yes , its riveting. Is prison really like that ? If so why do criminals keep returning . I'd be living in fear . The noise is awful . I'll be watching

I remember Aneurin for his part in War and peace, he was brilliant in that too. I have not seen 'Time' yet so might binge watch at the end.

Re: Time... On BBC 1. Is Anyone Watching This?

Yes I’m watching and it’ll be week by week. I don’t ever binge watch .
One puzzling thing is why a first offender ,Mark ,would be put into a prison housing “lifers “(something one said he was in for )
I read the interview with JM in the RT this week and with his knowledge of prison life I’d like to ask him that question .
I think I can safely say it’s going to include strong references to the lapsed Catholic faith Mark said he was as to how he copes with being inside .
