James Mason in Dublin .....

Watched a docu last night on Gregory Peck - he spoke of James Mason who was walking along a Dublin Street, which was empty except for an older gal, who was rushing up behind him ....She says 'Excuse me - but aren't you James Mason in yer later years' .......
Loved that ......

Typical Pats, I remember when Stewart Granger came into a city centre pub, one old lady said to him "God it's Stewart Granger, you look younger than you do in them ole films", he didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

David Niven was a very good speaker of experiences ....
At an awards ceremony in America, he and Gregory were waiting in the wings to go on, when a streaker flashed past the stage and past Niven who turned to Gregory and said 'Theres a fella that doesn't recognise his own shortcomings !'
Fab huh .........

He was quick off the mark there, I was going to say he was on the ball, but decided against it.

I call that saying something you shouldn't say and trying to get away with it all in the one sentence, ever notice how often comedians use it?, a good 'everyday' example of that I think is "I hate to say I told you so", if you really hated saying it you wouldn't mention it, the true fact is you love saying I told you so, I love saying it anyway, drives the wife up the wall.
