The Butler

Leaving shortly to see this film. It's about a Black butler who served in the White House under 8 presidents. It should be pretty interesting. Not sure if it is going to play in the UK.. but if it does, it might be worth seeing.

Have you heard about this one there? I certainly will tell you how I like it. I'm more interested in seeing how the Presidents and First Ladies are portrayed and who plays the part.. Jane Fonda is playing Nancy Reagan.. now that's really ironic..

Just returned from the movie.. It was incredibley powerful... It was really a history lesson of America's racial past, starting in 1926 in the cotton plantations of the deep South and ending with the election of President Obama.. Through it all, the Butler served 8 presidents from Eisenhower through Bush I. Oprah was wonderful.. She did a magnificent job. If it comes to the UK you may want to see it. It will show how and why race relations developed as they have in the States. VERY worthwhile seeing.

It was riveting.. Kind of a long film at over 2 hours.. I usually fidget in a movie theater.. but this movie gripped me from start to finish.. It even brought a tear or two..as well as a few chuckles. The time flew by. I didn't want it to end.
