Another Life Saved!

I was just about to take a mouthful of tea when I saw a Ladybird clinging precariously to the inside of the cup. He/She (are they all really Ladies?) now resides in one of my Orchids.

Well done ER I saved a ladybird from the washbasin in the bathroom the other day by popping it out out of the window then I realised I should not have done so because it was a Harlequin which are killing off our native species.... and they bite .

Always made me wonder why isn't the male called say a lordbird or a gentlemanbird?

Why isn't a female kingfisher called a queenfisher?

'Tis verily a conundrum.

Oops!

I made a cup of tea when the trading hut opened, walked a few yards to the greenhouse and cursed my head off. There was a fly merrily swimming in my brew so I chucked the whole lot away and made a fresh one.

Re: Another Life Saved!

Now, flies I have no sympathy with - yuk.

I have a constant supply of wood lice (from where I haven't a clue), plus the occasional bee which are returned to the great outdoors.

Wasps - well, I don't like 'em, having an allergic reaction to the sting, but I'll still try to get them outside.
