Not chat rooms as such but plenty of message boards about 10 years ago. Some had `private rooms` I met a few folk that became friends,been to Prague with Jen to meet one,been to Paris again with Jen to meet another.

Been to a funeral for one as well.

Having said all that there are some really nasty people around as well.

I wouldn't mind one for this site's members, but deffo not when I'm on the iPad! Always correcting my input.

I used to be on a Top Gear one and did enjoy it, but the service was closed down and the website had to move. From that day on it all changed and for me, not for the better. So I walked away from it. Have a few of those friends on FB, fortunately.

In a chat room it is literally like being with a group of people all talking at the same time. You see their posts on screen and depending on how many online it can scroll up very quickly. You have to be quick if you want to answer someone, or the original question/post could easily disappear as more and more comes onto the screen.

It's great fun, but you gotta be quick. Mind you, FB has a similar function, and you can see if the OP is typing. And you really need to type in short sentences if with a group of people.

So yeah, come on Azz! Bring it on.

Just a personal view, but that could be detrimental to this forum, people being in a chat room rather than the forum itself - ah well whatever will be ....
