It’s the shore! When l was four and lived in Ireland, the stores had the same smell!
Might just be a foreign shop smell?

I remember them, I always got a lucky tattie. Google will help you with that.

Aldi. Love it. Especially their chilled selection. Their fishcakes are wonderful.

Re: Aldi or Lidl

Aldi has nice fruit and veg and you do get a feeling that it's good quality. With Lidl it's a bit more grotty. But I don't like the one nearest me mostly because it's so difficult to park there. The parking spaces are too close together and it's not easy to get in and out of spaces because it's so tight. You get a lot of range rovers and such parking there and trying to squeeze past them to get in and out is too stressful. That really puts me off. I go to Tesco and Sainsburys most because parking is easy and they generally have most things I need. I would go to Aldi more often if it was not so crowded. I don't like Asda. I have seen people get into arguments there. It was my favourite when I was a student back in the day but it's changed since the takeover.

But really we are so lucky to have so much choice. I don't think it will last. You can see the system is falling apart at the seams, the shelves aren't organised, the infrastructure is looking rough. The grumpy staff. It does depend on the store and location. Each store has it's own culture. There is no corporate standard these days.

Someone on the radio was talking about how the concept of the customer is king is going down the pan. Certainly feels like it. They are doing us a favour these days. If they shut down we are in trouble. Where would we get our food?
