Which of the 5 senses?

Which of our 5 senses would you find it hard to cope with if you lost one of them- and why?
Food for thought!

Sense of smell. Couldn't smell the lovely countryside smells, the seaside and the flowers.

Eyesight . . . it's the most precious thing to me . . I could live without one of the others but not eyesight.

Re: Which of the 5 senses?

I would always have chosen sight in the past but as I have seen most things that I want to see I am torn between Smell and Hearing.
I would miss the smell and sounds of mother nature.

Hearing
Can you imagine never being able to hear music again, or birdsong, or children singing.
Then add in that it will be very very difficult to have conversations one to one, let alone be one in a crowd. It must be so lonely

Re: Which of the 5 senses?

Losing your sense of smell isn't a problem, I've never been able to smell and I don't miss it, sometimes it's a good thing. How did I lose it I hear you say ....... well, I was addicted to nose drops when I was young (one of my many addictions) and I ruined the tissues in my nose. But hey, it doesn't bother me. Losing your eyes and hearing are much worse.

Re: Which of the 5 senses?

It would be the loss of sight for me.

I think I could cope with the loss of hearing by learning sign language (and I would still retain familiar sounds inside my head) - but I rely much more on vision than sound, so the loss of sight would be more detrimental to me.

I think I could quite easily live without my sense of smell - in fact sometimes it might even be an advantage (sorry hubby! )
