Choosing a Modem Router

I have Netgear DGND3700v2 modem router, but on the support line to ClaraNet this week coz my internet packed up, the techie said my Netgear was so slow.... He said that many ISP supplied machines were not of the best performance.

So far I have found a TP-Link Archer VR600 at a few quids under the ton, but some are prices at very low or very high rates.

Any suggestions for a replacement? I don't have a fibre connexion, but ADSL2 at about 14 Megs
Thanks

Re: Choosing a Modem Router

I have a BT router as I am with BT anyway. No problem with signal strength wireless around my 4 bed house. Also have about same speed download as you
Download = 14.31Mbps
Upload =0.96
That is well above average for around here. Not on fibre optics either. Reading is wireless in another room from Router.On computer is a wireless dongle receiver plugged into a USB3 port

Yes Dobra, I've got a BT Infinity also, it beats my old Virgin Media ADSL router into fits.
Had it for a couple of years now and never had a problem. I'm not on Fibre Optic, same as Realspeed. I live in a bungalow and installed it in the centre of the house up in the loft, I can even pick up the Wi Fi signal in the summer house down the yard.
