I will have to take your word on all that as I know nothing about drugs, other than what I hear about or see.

There have been cases of people drinking prior to the flight and still being allowed to board, they then go on to cause problems.

I still come back to the fact that if people were to be brought up correctly, knowing right from wrong and that there were consequences for their actions, there would be none of this today.

Over the years discipline and standards have been allowed to slip in so many ways. What we see today is, I believe, a direct result of this.

A sign of the times, sad times too!

I don’t know anything about these drugs either. I was agreeing that people need to take responsibility for their actions whether drunk, high or sober.

The BBC has been unable to reach the woman for comment.
Not surprising, very embarrassing for her now. The repercussions of this will last for many years and effect her in ways not comprehended.

That is a certainty, whatever explanation she may give in her defence.

Re: Air rage

No healthy person would act like this, even when angry. It's too over the top. A healthy, but overly emotional person knows when to put on the brakes - threats of opening doors, hijacking? There's more going on here:

1. Drug and alcohol screenings. Positive? She pays the fines/costs.

2. Not drugs and alcohol? There are signs here that there is something neurological going on. Get her an exam and interview the family. Not neurological? She pays the fines/costs.

3. Neurologically ill with a history with refusal of diagnosis or treatment? She pays the fines/costs - but you can bet that she doesn't have the money.

4. Neurologically ill but getting treatment? She pays no fines/costs. If for whatever reasons that health information is not disclosed to the airlines (rights of privacy laws, or no attempt by the government or airlines to obtain a disclosure ahead of time), that is the cost of a free society - unless the society decides to tighten up the laws in dangerous environment like commercial airplanes.

1-4. She goes on a no-fly blacklist.

She has been.

Another one with a sense of entitlement who thinks the world revolves around them?

Re: Air rage

The airlines should stop allowing drunk people to board these holiday flights and certainly not serve them any alcohol if they are boarded, there's no reason to serve alcohol on short/medium flights.

So should all airline passengers be breathalyzed before they enter a plane????

Your second point do agree with.
