The Queen's Christmas speech has been announced as the most-watched TV programme of December 25 this year.

Reportedly, 8.2 million viewers.

The only thing we watched.

It's a good job I'm not your missus Primus, or I'd have to hide the remote.

Re: Christmas telly

Television is always dreadful at Christmas these days , I concluded the TV companies decided not to waste money on quality programs when a lot of the population is otherwise engaged with family, game playing and food .

Not much thought has been given to those living alone, I am glad I have lots of programs recorded and catch up TV

The radio is a bad with dreadful 'guest editors' on the Today programme and lots of repeats during the day .
I like continuity and to start my day with current affairs not the likes of Pru Leith and Louis Hamilton (the first 2 guest editors) rambling on with inconsequential nonsense before 9am .

But in reality it's been written for the woman! She MIGHT have had some veto but that's all.

Re: Christmas telly

Has anyone taken a moment to think *how* a television programme of any genre would be made in the middle of a global pandemic!

....or indeed what is involved even when that is not the case!

Now think how that could be achieved with the level of human beings at the Daily Mail ready to go on their "telly bash" button ?

Many ways. One example is where Lenny Henry took the genius of Morecambe and Wise and cherry picked from a couple of guys who, unlike him had REAL talent and copy and pasteed into a "program" - and probably got paid a bomb to do so.
