Re: Squirrels

Very nice pics, Graham. The reds are much prettier than the greys I think.
I've never seen one in real life though.

The greys do my head in here. I have loads of the little b's dashing along my fences to get to my bird tables and wreck them. The dogs go loopy.
I'm getting a lot of young half grown ones at the moment, so I guess they're this year's babies.

At the end of my garden there is a huge neighbouring walnut tree, and come winter, they'll all be having their annual 'Walnut gathering party' up there, and then taking over all my garden tubs as their larders!!

Re: Squirrels

Nice pictures. I would be interested in the camera and lens used.

Re: Squirrels

Do you know why squirrels swim on their backs???

It is to keep their nuts dry

Re: Squirrels

I visit my local park most days and feed the grey squirrels, today I got a real surprise.

I've never heard them make a sound before but suddenly, their tails were moving frantically and they were chirping to one another on the tree branches, I think they were courting calls, first time I've ever known them not to be interested in me nuts!

Re: Squirrels

You should hear the grey squirrels as they sit on my garden fence chattering to my dog, while she goes potty. I feel sure they are teasing her.

Re: Squirrels

Great pics.

The grey squirrels on the farm where I work are as thin as a needle! Obviously they have adapted to the available food they can get.
