Has Technology Made Us...

Lazy?

It’s moving at such a fast rate, it left me behind long ago.

I would like to explore some of it more, but some of it is so darn expensive, I must say Alexa is fun, but I don’t like the idea that they can listen into my conversations,

Has it been lazy?
My expertise in technology has been over 50 years. So tt cannot realistically have been lazy. Much of it has been in the power electronics industry and particularly large machines.

In my field, there have been great advances not least being safety. But also on the consumer side of things. Lighting, for example, has vastly improved efficiency as a result of energy technology. Computers, DVDs, flat screen, watches with pedometers,............

And no, I don't spy on Alexa Dot...................

Less social Pauline, you can hear a pin drop in our house when our Daughter, Son in Law, and two granddaughters, complete with boyfriends come to see Mrs Fox and me on Sunday's (before Covid of course) Just the odd "Have you seen this on twitter Dad?".... Whatever happened to conversation...

To answer your question about lazy though.......
The motor car was the biggest single thing to create laziness and obesity in my opinion....Technology just thumps a few more nails into the coffin of society...

But there are two types of technology Besoeker, what l call real
technology and what has become known as technology, the
information technology??
You were involved in the real technology which has a product or
benefit to society, whereas the new technology has little product
or benefit to society other than promoting itself ??
I also have a theory that over time, due to the natural law of use it
or loose it, that human brains will decrease in size as we become
more dependant on google etc ??

I can’t believe it!...I agree with you,...what ever happened to conversation OGF, my son is the same, we never have deep meaningful conversation, I know he loves me and would be there in an instance, but it’s not the same...I love to talk and have a conversation.

Everyone seems to be rushing all of the time, and when they speak, it’s at a hundred miles an hour,

I feel old and left behind ....until I come here,or am around people of my own age.
