Re: Your weather

Well so much for the threatened storms, talk about 'in a tea cup'. Although have to admit there was a brief but extremely loud thunder storm during the night. My bed head is immediately below the window, and was jolted awake by a tremendous flash/bang that sounded and looked like a bomb, but then the thunder rumbled on for a while, there was a sudden heavy downpour barely lasting a few seconds, a few more distant bangs and flashes and, finished. Yes we now have some sporadic showers, but nothing like the enormous, devastating storm that was forecast.

Re: Your weather

We got the usual BBC Gloom 'n Doom weather for our areas but to be honest, it's not been that bad!

OK, it chucked it down in galvanised buckets earlier but then out came the sun - like it was saying sorry!

Big, white fluffy clouds out now with the sun so the garden's happy, the birds are happy - and I'm happy! stevmk2

Re: Your weather

we've had bouts of heavy rain which was something I really didn't want to happen today as I visited my dad's grave on the anniversary of his death, the cemetery always seems a nicer place when the sun is shining

Re: Your weather

We have just had another two minute storm, sky went black as ink, terrific thunder clap, blinding lightening flash, short but exceedingly heavy downpour, seconds later, all gone.

But a little disturbing was the fact that even while I was typing this I could hear fire and ambulance sirens going past.

Re: Your weather

I'm resurrecting this old thread to say just how much I hate strong winds. We've had gales and rain here for the past two days and they really wear me down. I have this awful sense of deja vu as this is how last winter started and then we had all those storms. I hope we don't have a repeat performance this year...

Re: Your weather

Just been reading this thread, certainly hope the UK doesn't get the floods again that you got last year - wonder if all the damaged done to homes has been repaired for this winter?

Weather here has gone awry here too, end of September we built up to 35C apparently never recorded in September before in Western Australia then this week we have cold thunder and lightning and hail! Normally if we hit the 30s in November we are in for a hot summer that hot in September makes me wonder how hot we will get.
Sincerely hope UK is not in for another bad winter.
