Re: Tackling in schools

Of course not tpin but why take unnessary risks when it can be improved ? Just making the teams have equal sized opponents would help enormously, kids at my nieces school one 12 year old is very slight short lad the other same age is almost adult sized and muscular, pitted against each other the little one is bound to be hurt. You wouldn't put boxers in the ring who were from very different weight classes.

Hi

A valid point.

I an surprised that there are so many over 50's here in the UK, we should all be dead by now.

Wrap them up in cotton wool, dump them in front of a playstation, feed them fast food and they grow up unfit, obese and diabetic and die younger than if they were out and about doing things.

Hi

Another example of the cotton wool syndrome.

Where will it all end?

Re: Tackling in schools

I have never wrapped my sons up in cotton wool .
On the contrary they were full on and excelled at sports.
But I was always against full on rugby for boys.

Re: Tackling in schools

I think there should be any additional gears for children's rugby. Tackling is the essential part of rugby. The only thing school should do is only add additional safety gears to make the effect of tackle lower.
