I hate even more when people say 'of' when they mean 'have', as in (for example) 'he must of known about it'.

Another thing I hate - just reminded of it having heard an advert on the telly - why do so many adverts feature someone shouting (and the do shout) with an American accent?

"Dat Cahm" is a very common expression (dot com).

I also dislike the use of 'nan' or - even worse - 'nana'

My maternal grandparents were Grandma and Grandpa, my paternal ones were the less formal Granny and Granddad.

I really dislike the sloppiness that is creeping in - mainly with media personalities.

'Would of, could of' instead of 'would have/could have'.

Can I - instead of - May I

'Te' - instead of -'The'

And certain phrases such as -

spitting his/her dummy out,
throwing his/her teddy out of the pram
blue sky thinking
thinking outside the box

and I am sure there are many more!

Yes this is a common mistake made by our American cousins, I also hate it, who teaches these people.
