Ha yes- an old brass compass! The spirit level is to make sure the thing is level (doh) Not quite sure how to use it as it seems to be a nautical thing with sights and even trig tables. Perhaps something useful if one is cast adrift in an open boat.

No again!

No, it's a food mixer (or it was!).

Marge has got a new one (smaller) and so I claimed this one. It has quite a big motor which is not geared, yet is still really quite powerful. I had to take it apart to disable an interlock switch which was designed to prevent it being used without the mixing bowl attached.

I don't know what to do with it yet. Perhaps I can attach a grinding wheel, or something, for sharpening chisels maybe.
