Richelieu

A few pics of this jolie ville we overnighted in on our return from the French Med. It'sa sweet place - very planned, very symmetrical, designed and built by the eponymous Cardinal for one of the Louis's. Not quite on the Loire, but very near Chinon etc.

Our hotel - we had a fab room, first floor, left of the pic, windows with shutters on 2 sides, different levels, wierd colours (as many French bedrooms seem to be) - and we ate our evening meal at the outside tables. Lovely

We were on our way back from L-R! Love it. We went on the ferry to Santander then drove across the Pyrrenes to the Med coast

Re: Richelieu

We stayed in a Hamlet called Boussagues, it was lovely although a tad awkward to get to...........the next nearest village was La Tour sur Orb....we ventured out a few times to Meze, Cap d'Ag, Lamelou but we mainly chilled out in our little Gite - weather was glorious!

Re: Richelieu

Fab pictures We love France and have visited a few times now. Our last break was at the beginning of September when we visited Brittany. Such a pretty place with loads to see and do! The most enjoyable part is motoring on empty roads, which is why we take the bike sometimes
