Re: Is Brexit over ??

Hi

Leaving the EU was difficult for me.

So many advantages lost.

I am getting more and more annoyed with them by the day.

So what are tariffs for Zaphod if as you say market forces will always

I don't know why you have so many problems and only buy crap food. Welsh lamb is sold in most supermarkets...
I'm sure you're right.
Although I'm an almost-vegetarian, we have an excellent butcher just down the road. He was advertising, with pictures, an excellent-looking steak the other day - all fat, etc, removed, leaving lovely pink meat.
Marge and I shall be getting some of that. Yes, even me!

If the subsidy supported EU market was not available to them they
WOULD sell at a reasonable price because there would be no one
else to sell to??
Maybe all this will change if we ever exit EU completely??
One day, perhaps.

In one word: protectionism.
It really is that simple.
Sometimes it can be used for good, as with steel dumping.

It has to be accompanied by actions as well !!
I am hoping this ambassadorial row is the start of us breaking free
and l look forward to further moves of this nature which will prove
our independence, the main one being, us issuing the terms and
conditions for use of our fishing facilities ?

I know that financially it is insignificant but it is the ultimate test

Have we got it or not?
There is no such thing as almost in this case !!

Regarding the bold, we have done that.
Just because there is some disagreement about exactly how far we have exerted our independence is a matter for debate but the independence itself certainly is not.

As you know, we could if we so wished remove the EU from our waters completely, just as you could remove the electricity supply from your home completely if you so wished.
Whether either of those is the best way to go is what is debatable.

Not only that, we can also introduce our own non-tarrif barriers that work for the UK, not Germany.

I think you missed some of what l said Zaphod?
The bit where l said we should be making and issueing the terms
and conditions for the use of?
I did not suggest kicking anybody out of anything ?
