The Royals and the Paparizzi
Is this one of the reasons for the Royal led clamp down on photographers?
IT WAS a law for the royals and another for the rest when the Duchess of Cornwall went Christmas shopping yesterday – and parked on yellow lines for two hours.
Her Land Rover Discovery blocked the street and caused a traffic jam but Camilla, 62, somehow avoided getting any parking tickets on her trip to Holt, near the Queen’s estate at Sandringham, Norfolk, where she is staying with Prince Charles.
She wandered around shops with two women friends while hunting for gifts in the historic Georgian town. Her car, driven by a royal detective, was at first parked on a single yellow line for around 50 minutes and then in another illegal spot less than 20 yards from a pay-and-display car park.
It was later driven 100 yards to park on double yellow lines for around 20 minutes. “Luckily for Camilla there wasn’t a traffic warden in sight,” said a shopper.
Norfolk Police last night declined to comment.
They would get more sympathy if they obeyed the laws that apply to us all rather than using their position to flaunt them.
Stories such as this without photographers to back them become instantly deniable.
