While people are preparing for a pandemic

Spring is surfacing where I live. All of these (except the Loquat) are wild. The woods are full of wonderful smells and eye candy. The pink ones are crab apples.

My woods are full of these and within a couple of days the wild Mountain Laurel will be blooming.

You know how to hurt a man.
It was but a few years ago I used to get up at three in the morning and head off into the forest to listen to the dawn chorus. New leaves appearing on the beech and the oak, Crab apple trees in full blossom, Blackthorn in full bloom
Now I,m afraid age has taken it,s toll and this most wonderful time of the year is just a dream. Still I do still have my dreams for which I am truly thankful.

I was seeing the same thing on my forest walk with the dog the other day, made me feel a bit happier. Lovely to see your photos of it on here.

My Scottish ancestors came here in 1740, arriving at Philadelphia. After a short time, they came to the Deep South. I guess they had enough of late Springs.
