Passport Control

I accept that now I am past 80, I may not be as quick in thought as I used to be. This announcement that at all our airports you can miss the long queues at passport control by paying £5 to be fast tracked through. Surely if everyone felt the payment was worth it, the long queues would just move to there.

Not everyone in that long queue need to be through quick, my son used it once , if he had stayed in the queue he would have missed his flight .

Yes but think of all the extra money they would be making.

Re: Passport Control

Hi Eliza,
I don't have any quarrel with that, and good luck to your son for taking advantage of what is on offer. However you missed my point. If everyone thinks it is a good idea, it just shifts the entire queue elsewhere, taking us back to the start, having paid for the privilage. If the majority do not use it then fine it works well.

Re: Passport Control

The ultimate answer, of course, is to take your holidays in this country.

Queuing at airports for baggage drop and security, along with the inevitably long periods of sitting about waiting for boarding, make flying abroad not very attractive these days.

I'm sure these things could be done far more efficiently if the will was there, but then it's all about money isn't it?
