Nail on head, Joe.
In my early years of working nights I was wondering why I still couldn't sleep, even with knocking coffee on the head for a couple of weeks beforehand. A colleague mentioned the same reason.
Now I make sure that my last coffee before I sleep is at least three hours before I'm due to begin my slumber
You don’t have to miss out on your coffee if you drink decaf which doesn’t stop you sleeping. If you buy a decent brand you hardly notice the difference in taste.
Glad you are seeing your doctor, you said you've been seeing her for some time so she knows you pretty well, hopefully she will prescribe something that will help.
