I got one of those chrome cast gadgets from my son, a great little invention, anything you have on your laptop/desktop can be transferred immediately onto the big TV screen, no messy wires, we're watching an old episode of "Midsomer Murders", the wife loves John Nettles.Goodnight folks, sleep well.

.Jem, what a nice gift and thank you for the heads up on the Chromecast. I had no idea this was available. I am one of those who has cables running across the living room when I want to stream from my Macbook to the television. In fact, I just emerged from having my head behind the stereo units trying to make sense of a tangle of wires that looks like a nest of serpents. It's amazing I haven't been struck by lightning with all of conductivity going through this place.
May there be fewer of the bothersome cables in your life to tie you down...

Tried Chromecast (and other gizmos) not much use, I think the problem is, the first few miles of the signal is through Fibre Optic Stuff, the last 100 yards or so (Not Metres) is from a Telegraph Pole and the Roof.Long may this be the case, long live 625 lines Pal.

I'm also at the end if the line too, spitfire, and with lowly NTSC
While my internet and cable come and go, I discovered that I have shelves of these entertaining devices called "books" that are both wireless and never need recharging. That's some elegant technology, if you ask me.
