I have just taken 6 cuttings from one of my clematis tonight, I have never done that before, so I shall be well chuffed in any take root.

Some clematis are harder than others..Montana is the easiest.I take dozens each year.
I use a rooting gel in a sandy compost mix....each cutting in a small pot covered for a few weeks with half a pop bottle.If overwinter the leaves drop don't throw away...scrape the stem with a knife...if it's green it's alive.

Lovely just planted a white Alba by the shed at the caravan hoping it will go over the shed and show us and our neighbour a lovely lot of flowers next year and beyond, have to pay him back for his show of lilacs which only flowers on our side

We have several in our garden of different colours, one has to be careful they don't take over, I am always cutting the plants back.
