Flower identification please

My son, who is working on St. Agnes in the Isles of Scilly has taken this picture. Does anyone know what it is please?
It looks like one of those insect eating plants to me!

Re: Flower identification please

The flower looks like a small red brugmansia - certainly not like a sedum flower.

Looks like a datura flower but an odd place for one as they hang down from a tall plant, ask Audrey 2, looks like one of hers!

Re: Flower identification please

Looks like a Angels Trumpet otherwise known as a Brugansia as Jamela
has mentioned.

They grow on a Brugansia tree so looks like this is one that got away
and has fallen off a tree or it is a joke for flower lovers

Re: Flower identification please

It looks a bit like a Courgette flower with devils horns, but could it be in the Cotyledon family, they are succulents?

Re: Flower identification please

It's hard to tell what it is without some idea of the scale. Is the pic lifesize , enlarged or shrunk.

I can see why it has been likened to a DATURA, but it has characteristics more akin to a succulent.

Other than that ,I'm stumped.

Good game tho.

Re: Flower identification please

Echeveria, that's the succulents name .. I've been looking through my books
The flower I feel is still a red brugmansia.

The Echeveria is to scale Robert, they are half an inch to about four inches across.
