Re: Cant sleep wont sleep.

Last night I did a code breaker puzzle! Slept for a while. Woke up again. Made a hot drink. Slept for a while. Mentally swept up the leaves in the paddock over the road. Big job. Slept, overslept actually. Can't win.

Re: Cant sleep wont sleep.

If I'm wide awake I get up - make a cup of coffee and play scrabble on my computer,

If I'm comfortable in bed and don't want to get up, I reach for my headphones and listen to a talking book. Nine times out of ten the talking book will lull me back to sleep - if it doesn't I just listen to another one.

After a series of restless nights I will take a Nytol which work very well for me. Once I've had a good Nytol sleep I'm ok again for a few days..

If you're on the computer, you mind is being stimulated, not quietened.

Oh yes Twink. We will only make his mind go into overdrive with our intellect and wit.

Re: Cant sleep wont sleep.

It is curious this middle night wakefulness especially in the older and I have started experiencing it in the last few years in my early 60s and it has also been much written about. My procedure is to start some of the things I will have to do the next day anyway such as shaving and doing my injection ( not Insulin - something easier but more obscure ). Then the wish for sleep starts to return and I hopefully go back.

Are you sure you are not injecting insulin because that will make you go to sleep, permanently. if you inject too much
