A large benefit of brexit! Finally.

UK officials are exploring restrictions on product after minister described it as ‘unbearably barbaric’.

This vile practice should have been banned years ago. I wouldn't expect anything less from the French.

The*United States of America*comes in second worst with a score of 118. While animal protection laws are widespread, the degree of variance across state lines can be enormous, and as a whole the country is a high consumer of animal based protein.
Developed by international animal welfare advocates Voiceless, the VACI provides a glimpse into the extent of farm animal cruelty across fifty selected countries worldwide.

"Asked about the gavage, the most controversial aspect of foie gras production, where long tubes are pushed down the birds throat to pump food into the digestive system, causing the liver to swell to several times its natural size"

A most unnatural and typically French form of torture of animals.

I suppose that we shall just have to accept that some of us are more civilised than others and remain in having nothing whatsoever to do with their inhumane practices.

I have always looked down on the French for a number of reasons and it would be unrealistic of us to hope that they would ever manage to attain our superior standing of civilisation.

At what moment of the fox hunt do you close your eyes, or do you watch the ripping of a fox by dogs in a civilised manner?

You know how it is with englishmen and the law, don't you?

Hunts have continued to be held throughout England and Wales, sometimes with the hunters and hounds following a previously laid scent trail rather than a live fox (drag hunting). When a live fox is hunted, the law requires the animal, if it is killed, to be shot by the hunters rather than killed by the hounds.
