Faults in both sides

Hi

Brexit has not been a disaster, neither has it been a huge success.

We are very early in the process and our Politicians have not performed well.

Not everything is down to sabotage by Remainers.

Liz Truss voted remain but has been brilliant.

She has delivered and not mislead everyone.

Boris got us out, but has not delivered on his promises.

It will be years before we know which way it is going to end.

And yet you've just prejudged Brexit by saying that it has neither been a disaster nor a success, thus contradicting yourself.

Even in years to come there will undoubtedly be those that cling to whatever their ideologies are no matter how this country does.
The big trouble is you see that it is extremely difficult to compare how you have done with a set of "might-have-been-if" assumptions; there are far too many unknowns in other words.

One thing is certain: whatever we do from now on is entirely up to us, and not (thank heavens) the EU or anybody else.

Hi,

No not judged anything, merely stated that it is too soon soon to tell.

I think you summed it up perfectly, for all the straw clutching and bravado going on in this forum, whether Britain is actually better off or worse off is only going to be known in hindsight perhaps a decade down the track.

It can only be hoped that the British government makes the best of the opportunity but they have a history of stuffing things up and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. We will have to wait and see.

I know that there are those who think that I'm some sort of pro-Brexit fanatic (but that is most-frequently just the more-devout EUrophile visitors here) but I'm not.
I'm a realist.
One that will counter crazy notions and especially the pro-EU drivel that is sometimes both prevalent and frankly ridiculous in this part of the forums.

But that post is a good and accurate precis of where we are now Bruce.
Ta for a much-needed bit of common sense.

Your last paragraph sums up British history for the last 200 yrs
precisely Brucy. ?
However, if Brexit is indeed over, then l can only say it was one
big anti climax !!
Almost as if nothing has happened at all ??

Donkeyman! 🤔🤔🤔
