A Dinner Party

Supposing you could invite five people to a dinner party which you cook yourself, be they dead or still alive, who would you invite?

Mine would be:

1. Albert Einstein - for great intellect
2. H G Wells - for futuristic thought provoking
3. Bradley Walsh - for comedy
4. Lindsay Wagner - for gentility
5. Cher - for her long allegiance to the music world

You don't have to disagree with me or discuss my personal options, because those are mine so, what are yours, and why?

What fun!

My guests would include:-

1. Alan Rickman - for that melifluous voice.
2. Thomas Hardy - for his wit and excellent language skills.
3. Stephen Fry - for his intellect and knowledge.
4. Queen Elizabeth I - last of the truly great monarchs.
5. Julia Christina Ivers - my lovely Aunt and Godmother.

Re: A Dinner Party

My selection would be.
1. My paternal great great grandfather, plenty of questions to ask him.
2. Tommy Cooper, even if he didn't open his mouth his facial expressions are enough to make a cat laugh.
3. Brian Boru, the last high King of Ireland to fill me in on that period of Irish history.
4. Brenda Lee in her younger years for the singing.
5. Moses, to ask him what did he do with all that gold from the golden calf, must have weighed a ton, did he open the first Jewellery shop?

1. Rory Bremner

3. John Fortune
4. Nana Mouskouri
5. Nye Bevan.

The first three for humour, Nana Mouskouri for music, Nye for political debate.

Re: A Dinner Party

My mother - for all the little things we used to talk about
Mozart - for madness and brilliant music
Jeremy Hunt - to tell him how much he is crapping on the NHS
Chopin - to play beautiful music and to meet one of the greatest ever composers
Any one of many great philosophers - to stimulate great conversation

Can I have my dog as well?

You can have your dog as well, provided he doesn't sit at table!

I think five is a bit mean to choose from really, as there are lots of others I'd like to discuss with. I should have said 11, shouldn't I?

He's very well behaved, and does NOT sit at the table

Yes, five is fairly limited. Maybe we should plan several dinner parties, each with five people, with the challenge of putting together five who might be compatible/complementary?
