Unable to get off my bed to even get water(I live alone)

No way will I have the Flu jab again but will have the Pumonion(SP) one every five years because that can kill me if I catch something llke the Flu.
Bottle of water beside the bed, just the very thing.

Re: Flu jab 2018 booked

Just back from my regular 3 monthly visit to a farm shop to stock up on various meats, about £200's worth. Whilst the butcher was bagging up all my choices he mentioned that all his colleagues and friends who had had the flu jab were all badly ill. I could only shake my head and explain why that was. The guy himself, the butcher was, well, fit as a butcher's dog and he didn't have the vaccine.

I hear this same story just about everywhere I go. At Christmas I was on a cruise ship with 3000 passengers and the vast majority of those that were coughing and spluttering had all had the flu jab.

You'd think people would have woken up by now but sadly not.

What I love about it is now realist is using anecdotal evidence while berating anyone else daring to say they felt fine, it seems ok to say people felt ill. Bit of an inconsistency in the debate I think.

Exactly, I got my flu jab in November at the same time as my blood tests for the usual suspects (all came back clean BTW) and have had NO side effects or problems whatsoever.

Maybe we're just a bit hardier oop North?

Fail yet again Julie.

I'm not using annecdotal tales to try and prove that the flu vaccine is fraudulent snake oil. I used irrefuable evidence and respected research to do that, whereas you use annecdotal tales to try and prove that it isn't snake oil.

Therein lies the distinct difference between our understandings of objectivity and scientific rigor.

Re: Flu jab 2018 booked

I had the flu jab, felt a bit tired for a day or so but that was it. I heard of plenty of people who had the flu over Christmas but I have no idea whether they had the jab or not. The majority of people who say they have Flu, do not, they have Flu symptoms. Full blown Flu is much worse.

The thing with cruise ships is that if the Flu doesn't get you, the food poisoning will.
