Flu

I thought that when you have the flu jab you were protected, No, because they are so many different varieties of flu, which I have found to my cost. It must be 20 years since I had flu , but got it at moment, started last Saturday and I have felt rotten, dreadful cough, head ache, pains on top of pains. Checked with Doctor and blood test show a virus. I had forgotten just how rotten you feel with flu. I have slept more during the day than i have ever done.Doctor recons it should be getting better by week end.
In the mean time it has snowed again so the track needs to be cleared. I might have a go but will see how feels .

They only cover three or four varieties each year but I find and many others do too that if you do catch either a cold or flu it's much less severe than before we had the vaccinations.

That to me makes it still worth having it each year.

I had the flu jab too Norway but like you I have the lurge right now, awful isn't it

Norway don’t try to tackle anything .Flu can turn to pneumonia very suddenly .

Decided against clearing the track , dont think it would be wise, so Mrs n has driven the car up and own it a few times, at least it has flattened it down , but its till snowing.

I’ve got a stonking cold at the moment as well. Thankfully it’s not flu and I’m managing to work, but it feels like a bag of cement in my chest and coughing feels like it’s cutting me in two

Norway there are so many different strains of Flu, that they give you a jab every year to fight the 5 most virulent that year. They don't work like other vaccinations, that usually protect you for life!

The best way to cope with flu is lots to drink ( and I don't mean alcohol ), regular paracetamol to keep the temperature down and ease pain ..... and lots of sleep no matter what time of the day it is.
I hope you get better soon, but it is likely to last at least 2 weeks.

However, if it is just man flu, let me know because we have a group of ladies who know exactly how to get rid of that!

Sorry to hear you're poorly, stay in stay warm drink loads (lemon in water) and sleep xx
