Flabbergasted, what on earth are social workers thinking. A change in the law must stop this. The mother has proven in court that her rapist is a risk to her son.

Well anyone followed our fight to keep Gracie from her rapist father and his family will have known something like this could happen. SS think they are gods when it comes to kids and always deem the father must have a place in the childs life. I've seen women desperate to keep their kids from the men who abused them SS think it's their right to see the children even after violence or sexual abuse.

Child custody rights for rapists? If anyone can explain how this can be safeguarding vunerable children, retraumatising them causing untold damage. Just cannot understand.

It's the law thats at fault it needs to change so SS can stop doing it, at the moment law stands they tell me they have no choice but to keep father informed and in touch. Everytime it's raised Fathers for Justice etc shout loudest and get it stopped.

Rotherham council made another mistake it seems, they could have applied to the court to avoid notifying the rapist.

Beggars belief. In a statement, the authority said: "We must be clear that at no stage has it been the intention of the council to put any child at risk, or to allow any convicted child sexual exploitation offender to have care of any child."

It was seeking clarification from the Ministry of Justice as to how legal directions relating to Family Court proceedings should be applied, it said.

This was "not just for Rotherham," it added, "but to ensure that other councils across the country who may face similar issues are able to act with certainty and no more survivors of abuse have to experience further trauma".

A Ministry of Justice statement said: "Local authorities can apply to courts to request permission not to notify parents without parental responsibility about care proceedings, and courts should consider the potential harm to the child and mother when making this decision."

It added: "This is obviously a very distressing incident and the relevant departments and local authority will work urgently to understand and address the failings in this case."

A council member was on Iain Dales show last night very nice lady who was as baffled by the social work team as everyone else. She didn't though think they should be blamed as it was the law. Well sorry I do blame them, if the laws wrong get it changed. T hey are far better placed to do that than members of the public. Common sense was missing IMO

We really do have to wonder at the mentality of anyone involved in making this law . Educated people who show us that they have no common sense .
“Mad Ash”? What child would want to recognise he was fathered through rape by such a person known as that?

This is just appalling , the SS should hang their heads in collective shame . When it goes horribly wrong as I am sure it will .
They will trot out their usual *lessons have been learned*

Anyone heard of the Carol Woods story? that will open your eyes, of coarse it's possible that they removed it maybe not, reall shocking story about a very senior SS.
