As I've never seen the musical play, I didn't know anything about it & yes I enjoyed episode 1. I like period drama anyway.

Re: Les Miserables.

I have been looking forward to this adaptation by Andrew Davis ( he of Vanity Fair, Pride and Prejudice, Middlemarch, and War & Peace) his work is always watchable and usually 'earthy'.

Fantine is played by Lily Collins, Phil Collins daughter .

At last something decent to towatch on a cold winter nights

Re: Les Miserables.

Shall have to keep an eye out for this. It will be interesting to see if it follows the book especially things like the details about Thenardier's children, how Marius' father (grandfather?) knows Thenardier, how Fantine got pregnant etc etc (sorry if my spelling is wrong)

Should be good but will it be as gripping as the book?

Re: Les Miserables.

I have to admit to giving it a miss so far but I will try to catch it on catch up, once I get a day off from work so I can watch without interruption ( it wouldn't be Mr Missys cup of tea)

I do love the musical version and get to watch that now and then when home alone

Re: Les Miserables.

I have never seen the musical version, mainly because I would not enjoy a drama that is told in song, but I have always wanted to hear the story.
I watched the first part and thought it was excellent, so I will try to watch the whole story now.
