How many more DWP cock-ups ???

Yet again we see how despicable the scumbag 'nasty party' Government can be !!!

Even though this man received Employment Support Allowance payment in November in error, the error was that of the DWP and not his fault. In such circumstances, the alleged overpayment is NOT recoverable from the claimant - although in this instance the barstewards in the DWP seem to have done just that.

They did that to me too! When I moved house and swapped to Universal Credit, they were informed but still paid it by mistake, luckily I hadn't spent it as I knew it was an error but I didn't know they weren't supposed to take it back.
If I'd had my pension when I should have it would not have happened!

A friend of ours did a very silly thing when he was over paid, he voluntarily paid it back. Of course when they realised they still took the amount back out of his payment so he paid it back twice. It took 14 months and an ombudsman to get his money back from them. Never volunteer any refund to them they are nasty people to deal with.
