Re: Train knife killing

I realise this is tragic, but it's beyond me why so many such incidents are making big news in recent weeks. After all there have been hundreds of stabbing fatalities in the last few months.

It's the new year and already so many .
Also train stabbings are relatively rare.
Not many people get on a train and are murdered by the next stop.

Re: Train knife killing

Hi

I am against random stop and search.

A complete waste of scarce resources.

We have to be realistic about this, the main problem is in Urban Areas and with youngsters.

You could stop and search all the oldies at Prees Post office on Pension Day, everyone would have a knife.

They do not stab people, it is an agricultural area, the knives are for feed sacks etc, cutting baler twine.

A completely different scenario to carrying one in an Urban Area.

We use profiling for a reason, to protect lives.

This stands out because of his son, a defenceless 14 year old who could have been stabbed, a trauma that will blight his life. A normal to nightmare situation that is indefensible, whatever the police investigation reveals.
