Re: Branson Bailout

I think we need to keep a list of all the overpaid TV cooks such as Oliver, Stein and Gobshite Ramsey; along with Branson and any other overly rich idiot trying to cash in on a bad situation. When this is all over, they should be avoided like the plague.

Re: Branson Bailout

At the end of the day it will all depend on just how many friends he as in high places and how much he is ready to bung them.

If you don't ask you don't get.

I have never liked the fella but then again I hardly like myself some days.

Re: Branson Bailout

It's a difficult one isn't it...if he is prepared to let Virgin go bust rather than risk his own money...do we save it a British company?....there are not many of them about anymore and regardless of what we think of him personally....he has created lots of jobs over the years

It is absolutely essential to preserve clear blue water between personal wealth and any business you have any interest in. It's not always easy but maintaining positive ROCE is essential. In these times if he didn't apply for any and all grants going he would be passing an advantage to those who do which would not only be very bad business but insane.

Re: Branson Bailout

It's air traffic that's got us into this mess in the first place. British Airways should be the one (if any) that any money should be invested. Branson's outfit can hardly be called 'British' anymore...Far too many people coming and going through our airports.
