Re: Post your daily exercise routine

Today's session, where I upped some of the weighs...

Abdominal Crunch: 60 x 45Kg, 90 x 50Kg
Back Extension: 60 x 45Kg, 90 x 50Kg
Tricep Extension: 85 x 30Kg, 10 x 40Kg
Chest Press: 85 x 40Kg, 10 x 45Kg, 5 x 50Kg
Overhead Press: 60 x 15Kg
Arm Curl: 15 x 15Kg, 60 x 20Kg
Pec Deck: 15 x 35Kg, 65 x 40Kg
Pull Down: 90 x 50Kg, 15 x 60Kg
Hip Abduction: 60 x 35Kg

The other two leg machines didn't record for some reason, although they appeared to be doing so. Still, 529 calories burnt, 1260 reps in total and scored 83 out of 100. Trying to keep my eyes open instead of napping otherwise I might not sleep properly tonight!

Bouncing back big style with a monster workout there, Tachyon. The sheer volume of your rep count staggers me!

Re: Post your daily exercise routine

I haven't done much exercise since last year because for 3 months I had a terrible cough that would not go away and it wiped out my energy to do anything physical. But recently I started to run with the dog. So when we go on walks I run a little bit every so often because he then loves to run faster (like a husky running with the pack!).

At first it took a lot out of me because my chest had taken such a battering but after doing it a few times I can really feel the difference now. Teddy is loving it too as he also had have a long break from long walks and running in the park after his knee op last Summer.

Maybe that's the best way to get back into exercise a little at a time.

Re: Post your daily exercise routine

Good work Annie, it's definitely the right way to go about returning to exercising. Following my two heart attacks I began my return to fitness by going out on long walks and gently adding short sessions of jogging. It's amazing how soon you progress after a layoff by doing small bite size portions of exercise.....Well done Annie.... And don't be a stranger to this thread....

Re: Post your daily exercise routine

Thanks OGF I do love this thread as it's so uplifting but I feel I can't contribute if I haven't done anything physical. It's very frustrating because I have always been a very physically active and energetic sort until I started getting injuries and minor annoying ailments in my mid 40s. I did walk down an awful lot of stairs today instead of taking a lift - that's my exercise today!

Annie - The main thing is that you are managing to get out and about in your daily life, and walking is good exercise. You could be easily plonked in front of a TV like those Gogglebox slobs who don't ever go anywhere but watch Jeremy Kyle and eat chips all day.
Keep it going, a little further each day and you'll be coasting along

@ Floydy: Thanks mate, praise indeed from you!

@AnnieS: Floydy and I both had that damn cough and, as you say, it wipes out the stamina, doesn't it. Mine featured a tightness in the upper chest and a really debilitating dry cough. I think a few others in here were unfortunate enough to get it as well. Mine lasted from December to late February, and I thought it was returning last week. Thanks the gods it didn't. It's awful. As OldGreyFox says, little portions of exercise is the way to go, and it will get you back into the swing of things gradually. Too much too soon can actually make you feel worse.

That dratted cough! I'm sorry you both suffered too. I had some sort of joint pain with the first onset too. So perhaps it's just a nasty bug and not age? I hope so! Hard to tell sometimes.

My vote would be a bug, as my eldest son and my mother had it too. It took them two or three months to finally get rid of it, just like me, as it seemed to fade and would then return again. I was drained by it whenever I exerted myself and I was getting a bit concerned it was permanent. Even now, if I breathe in to maximum extent I can feel a hint of the tightness, but that should go too I would think. Good luck on getting shot of it for good.
