What does this mean / do ?

I have an android mobile with Bt sim, I have set alarms for getting up and taking medications etc for ages but today there is an option that says google assistant routi + on each alarm.

What does that do ? don't want to press it in case it shares my alarms with the world.

No we have an amazon firestick for the tv but no google devices.

I googled and couldn't make head nor tail of it all Ray, I think I'll just ignore it and carry on as normal. Nothing to hide but also don't necessarily want to broadcast even to my family all my alerts during the day. Bore them to death as much as anything.

This is an example of a Google Home routine


Say "Hey Google, good morning"...

And your Assistant can:

  • Take your phone off silent (only when initiated via an Android device).
  • Adjust lights, plugs, thermostats, and more
  • Tell you about today's:
    • Weather
    • Commute
    • Calendar
    • Reminders
  • Adjust the media volume
And then play:

  • Music
  • News
  • Radio
  • Podcast where you left off
  • Audiobook where you left off
  • Nothing

I see I will be doing all that myself until I can no longer manage I don't know if it's just me being bloody minded but I know I will need technology to help me eventually but I am resisting that day hard as I can.

I have the same clock and set the alarm for 1300 but I see no "google assistant routi +"

Looking at the Google Play site for Clock, I see:

WHAT’S NEW
• Wake up to your favourite music from YouTube Music and Pandora

• Add a Google Assistant Routine to your alarm to hear about the day’s weather, traffic, news and more
